Business Transformation in a Digital Age

Today, business executives face a range of competing pressures. On one hand, they must constantly innovate: improving products, serving the changing expectations of customers, and keeping pace with a dramatically changing technology environment. At the same time, they must do everything they can to improve the bottom line: cutting costs, rationalizing operations, and improving efficiencies. 

In the July 2014 study, ‘Business Transformation in a Digital Age’, TCS commissioned Forrester Consulting to research and survey 100 transformation leaders and decision-makers to evaluate the changing nature of business transformation. Enterprise-wide transformations are becoming more prevalent and complex. Businesses need to guard against the disruptive players that enter their respective industries, and while approaches and philosophies may differ, the most common way to reach that goal is through transformation initiatives. We believe, and the study proved, that a successful transformation requires innovation and operational excellence to be combined.

This study highlights the major findings from both the survey and subsequent interviews. It describes the changing landscape of transformations, the factors behind their success and failure and how businesses view their technology partners as key contributors to their overall innovation and transformation strategy.
