“Trapped Miner Location System”: RFID tags are placed in the cap lamps used by miners, in fixed areas to monitor toxic gases and on underground mining equipment; a backbone of WI/MF based network is laid underground to track the miners, assets and toxic gases and send these real-time data to a surfaced based web application for the easy display of such information a mine map. The RFID tags would help identify the personnel underground and would also help in providing the last position of a trapped miner incase of any disasters.
