To contribute toward the industry’s ‘Excellence’ agenda, last year RAI and TCS conceptualized Indian retail’s first-ever ‘Retail Operations Benchmarking & Excellence Survey (ROBES)’ and launched it at RAI Retail Leadership Summit in Mumbai. The 2013 survey focused exclusively on retail store operations and brought out compelling and insightful Indian retailing benchmarks for the year, outlining the best of qualitative as well as quantitative operational performances across three leading formats in India.
Taking the initiative forward, ROBES 2014 focuses on the ‘State of Multichannel Retail’ in India. There has been increased adoption of e-commerce by consumers and increased investments by retailers to gear up themselves for this emerging business model in India, which can be in sync with their physical store operations. Therefore, RAI & TCS thought it is the right time to look at the developments in this area, gauge the maturity of current practices, identify best-in-class KPIs and processes and highlight the milestones in the transformation journey ahead; toward becoming a truly integrated multichannel retailer. The report aims to present an eclectic mix of real retailer observations, along with mature takeaways from the global markets.
TCS will be represented by Anil Rajpal, Head, Global Consulting Practice – Retail & CPG for Emerging Markets, TCS, and his team comprising Sanjeev Seshagiri Athreya, Kedar Mehta and Sudip Gupta at the event.
