Global Partner Award Recognizes TCS for Exemplary Contributions to the SAP User Community and Ecosystem in 2006
Mumbai, June 5, 2007
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading IT services, business solutions and outsourcing firm announced that it had received the SAP® Pinnacle Award in the area “Industry Solutions Go-to-Market for SAP Adaptive Manufacturing Solutions”. SAP Pinnacle Awards were granted to leading SAP partners that have excelled in developing their partnership with SAP and mutual business by providing high-quality products, solutions and services to customers.
TCS’ nomination for the SAP Pinnacle Award was based on the Joint Go-To-Market initiative for SAP xApps Manufacturing Integration & Intelligence (xMII) solution. The Adaptive Manufacturing Practice within Plant Automation Services of TCS’ Engineering and Industrial Services (EIS) business unit is responsible for managing SAP xMII based services and solutions in TCS.
N. Chandrasekaran, Head, Global Sales and Operations, TCS, said, “This award recognizes TCS' pioneering effort in developing and implementing solution that enables manufacturing enterprises to integrate the shopfloor systems with SAP applications. This partnership aims to help customers embrace the adaptive manufacturing strategy and enhance their manufacturing competitiveness by optimizing production resources. This is just the beginning of many collaborative initiatives with SAP that we can successfully take to market.”
TCS is a recommended global SAP partner for the implementation and support of its xMII solution. This partnership brings together a comprehensive solution platform from SAP, together with TCS’ unique Global Network Delivery Model and rich plant floor automation solutions expertise. TCS is working closely with SAP on several dimensions to bring adaptive manufacturing solutions that provide value to global manufacturing enterprises. The collaboration with SAP aims to address gaps that exist in the manufacturing IT solution landscape by providing proof of concepts, development of Netweaver compliant tools and products, industry-specific templates that enable faster implementations as well as ‘Composite’ applications on SAP platforms; TCS is also investing in continuous competency building to support large scale and global implementations.
TCS has worked closely with SAP to position xMII as an ideal platform for building shop-floor oriented composites. It also created the first certified composite on xMII – “RapidSigma”. It has also created a portfolio of modular add-on components on xMII which are capable of being incrementally deployed. TCS and SAP have conducted several joint marketing campaigns to create awareness on Adaptive Manufacturing based on SAP xMII.
TCS is the one of the only Asian consulting companies that is a strategic global services partner for SAP. As a global partner, TCS is an SAP partner of choice for Adaptive Manufacturing Solutions for the process, life sciences & pharma and hi-tech verticals. As part of TCS’ support to SAP’s internal IT globally, it has also established a global development center in Bangalore to support SAP operations worldwide as well as support SAP Managed Services. In addition, TCS has invested in SAP business innovation labs with the Global Center of Excellence—the only partner to do so.
“SAP commends this year’s winners of the SAP Pinnacle Awards, who have excelled in their partnership with SAP and extended the value of SAP applications and services to our joint customers,” said Zia Yusuf, executive vice president, Global Ecosystem and Partner Group, SAP. “SAP has one of the most extensive global ecosystems in the software industry. We recognize this year’s award recipients for the tremendous value they have delivered to the SAP community and ecosystem during the past year. By working with partners such as TCS, SAP is continuing to drive co-innovation and provide further value for our worldwide customer base.”
