TCS helps Mother Dairy consolidate and standardize its HR processes with an HCM platform

TCS helped Mother Dairy with a centralized, web-enabled platform, with standardized and consolidated HR policies and processes with an integrated employee and manager self-service portal with its Human Capital Management (HCM) Platform.

The Customer:

Mother Dairy is owned by the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) in India. The organization manufactures, markets and sells milk and milk products, edible oils, frozen fruits and vegetable products at a national level.

Business Scenario:

Mother Dairy wanted a partner to migrate, consolidate and streamline its HR processes from its stand-alone and location-based HR applications onto our fully owned and managed HCM Platform.

TCS’ Solution:

We deployed TCS’ cloud-based HCM Platform, which is fully managed and hosted on reliable, scalable and secure state-of-the-art infrastructure. This helped provide standardized and consolidated HR policies and processes across the 17 locations of Mother Dairy. Therefore, the platform helped transform the organization’s HR function from largely manual-intensive, semi-automated processes to a completely web-enabled platform, with an integrated employee and manager self-service portal.

We activated the following functions the HCM Platform:

  • Workforce Administration (WFA), covering the following:
    • Organization structure and position management
    • Automation of core HR transactions
    • Employee events
    • Data management
  • Payroll for all employees (senior management, casual employees, permanent employees, time scale employees and apprentices), covering the following:
    • Employee earnings
    • Deductions
    • Withholdings
    • Taxes
  • Time management, covering the following:
    • Attendance and leave balance
    • Leave application
    • Shift planning
    • Work scheduling
    • Absence data
    • Access control
    • Positive time attendance
  • Uniform management for shop-floor employees, providing employee self-service for uniforms issued, uniform details (size, color and so on) and details on the uniforms due
  • Claims management for all employees
  • Loans management, providing loans to employees for house construction or repair, vehicle purchase and festival expenses. Loans taken against Provident Fund (PF) accounts can also be processed
  • Trust management to manage trust funds for house building, benevolence, gratuity, superannuation and PF
