Tata Starbucks Private Limited is a 50:50 joint venture between Starbucks Coffee Company, the world's leading roaster and retailer of specialty coffee, and Tata Global Beverages Limited, the Tata Group's global beverages business. Starbucks has 22,766 stores in 65 countries, while Tata Global Beverages Limited has an innovative stable of beverage brands. Tata Starbucks operates multiple stores across seven cities in India and offers a mix of beverages and ready-to-eat products with local variations.
Tata Starbucks was unable to get a holistic view of its business performance with its data scattered across different systems leading to inefficient business decisions. A long data gathering process also made timely tracking of core business key performance indicators (KPIs) a challenge.
TCS recommended its cloud-based Analytics Platform, Retail Analytics for Competitive Edge (rACE) in order to automate the enterprise reporting process by integrating it with disparate applications. The solution was implemented within 16 weeks. Tata Starbucks has thus been able to transform from a manual enterprise reporting system to an automated system.
