Clearstream Goes for Gold

Efficient announcement capture helps Clearstream meet growing demand for corporate actions data

In 2006, Clearstream began to evaluate a wide range of market data providers along with their products. After a thorough analysis and a highly competitive bidding process, Clearstream signed a deal with TCS Financial Solutions at the end of 2006. Deutsche Börse, Clearstream’s parent organization, was already familiar with Tata Consultancy Services through TCS’ work with subsidiaries, Xetra (the electronic trading system of the German stock exchange) and Eurex (the leading derivatives exchange and clearing house) since 2004. Case Study: Orbay

In the search for a technology vendor, Orbay clearly wouldn’t benefit from a prepackaged solution that was inferior to its current systems, nor would it select an expensive replacement that would place the firm at a competitive disadvantage in a highvolume, low-margin market. Orbay needed a system that exactly replicated what it had already built over the course of 20 years, but with multilabeling, straight-through processing and favorable economics. Case Study: DBS

DBS’ Securities Services division was exploring ways to expand a leading position in the custody services market by building a regional Asian franchise. To help DBS Bank achieve its business objectives, the Securities management team realised the need to achieve greater levels of efficiency and automation. The main criteria for picking a new system were product quality, implementation speed, and price. To allow DBS Bank to achieve its business goals, TCS Financial Solutions assisted DBS to integrate its next generation, SWIFTReady Gold Certified TCS BaNCS Custody solution into DBS Bank’s custody processing environment. Case Study: Citi Wealth advisors

In its search for providers, CWA settled on three finalists, all software vendors with primary operations in India. In the end, CWA selected two interlocking systems from TCS Financial Solutions: TCS BaNCS Securities Trading for the Internet trading component and the dealer workstation, and TCS BaNCS Securities Processing for clearing and settlement on the National Stock Exchange of India and Bombay Stock Exchange. Built on the same J2EE platform, both TCS BaNCS systems connect seamlessly using a Service-Oriented Architecture technology framework, but also can operate independently as separate modules.
