In this white paper, we argue that retailers can capture enormous value by reorienting strategies and business models to empower customers to live low-carbon lives. The retail industry can move low-carbon products from niche to the mainstream with the use of innovative technologies to engage suppliers and customers in affordable low-carbon living. This would help phase out today’s intrinsically resource-inefficient production-consumption system.
