Acquisitions
Financial Network Solutions (FNS)
In October 2005 we acquired Financial Network Solutions (FNS). With this acquisition, we have strengthened our portfolio of banking and financial services products by adding a strong, high-performance Core Banking Solution BANCS, which is the flagship product. This has significantly enhanced our ability to be a strategic partner of choice for the world’s top banks and financial institutions by enlarging our range of solutions for the banking industry.
TCS Management (TCSM)
We acquired the consulting firm TCSM in November 2006. This acquisition has enabled our business and technology transformation abilities. This brings about benefits such as strategy conversion, program alignment, portfolio balancing, and navigation services. The acquisition has also enhanced our capabilities in implementing core delivery management solutions for the larger banking clients.
Investments
There has been an initiative for technology that is capable of satisfying our customers’ unique needs and requirements. For this, TCS has invested in SAS and SAP Technology Centers of Excellence (CoE) to support our delivery capabilities in Melbourne.
Delivery capabilities
As part of our pioneer Global Network Delivery Model™ (GNDM™), we have established near-shore delivery capabilities in Melbourne. Today over 2500 consultants, with strong domain capabilities, provide high-profile technology services to customers on the platform of delivery excellence
Academic initiatives
We have existing relationships with local universities to tap into the local talent pool, through our Global Internship Program. Under this program, select students from IT, engineering, and science disciplines are given the opportunity to work at one of our Delivery Centers in India, on real projects. We offer local internships, providing students the opportunity to work face-to-face with our clients. We also engage with the Australian Computer Society (ACS) towards scholarship programs for university students.
