The Big Data Society Intelligence-led Policing Hackathon 2019 held at Macquarie University will explore the critical transformation undergone by the policing industry under the influence of new and emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and the IoT. Participants will be presented with challenges, requiring them to analyse real life issues within the police force, and present strategies to solve them.
TCS is proud to have partnered with Macquarie University, the Big Data Society and the Data Analytics Research Lab as platinum sponsor for the Big Data Society Hackathon: Intelligence-led Policing.
The hackathon will explore the critical transformation undergone by the policing industry under the influence of new and emerging technologies. Over two days, participants will be presented with challenges, requiring them to analyse real life issues within the police force, and present strategies to solve them.
The winning teams will receive up to $700 AUD for each challenge. Challenges include:
- Data and Predictive Analytics: Policing processes deals with large amount of related data islands (i.e., big data) from private, open, social and IoT data. For example, analyse social networks to predict and identify Cyber-/online-bullying and extremist and criminal behaviour.
- Enabling IoT in Policing: Recently, the Internet of Things has been widely adopted for the implementation and integration of data-driven processes within and across enterprises. Applications include: Smart Policing devices such as smart police uniforms, watches, mobile, car, drone, etc.
- Cognitive Assistants: Using cognitive technology to help police investigators in decision making.
The TCS challenges will focus on novel applications of intelligence-led policing from Data Analytics and Automation to Cognitive Assistants and Humanised Artificial Intelligence.
Together, participants will explore the power and wide scale use of Intelligent, Agile, Automated and Cloud technologies in digital transformation within the policing industry.
Participants will also hear from Srini Goluguri, Senior Account Director, TCS, who will be discussing the opportunities presented by the Business 4.0™ era; exploring the power and wide scale of uses of Intelligent, Agile, Automated and Cloud technologies in digital transformation within the Policing Industry.
