TCS Smart Hiring is exclusively for candidates pursuing BCA, B. Sc (Math, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Biochemistry, Computer Science, IT), B. Voc in CS / IT from the Year of Passing (YoP) 2023

Application Process for TCS Smart Hiring YoP 2023

Step 1. Logon to the TCS NextStepPortal here

Step 2. Register and Apply for the TCS Smart Hiring process YoP 2023

If you are already a registered user, kindly login and proceed to complete  the application form. Upon submission, click on ‘Apply for Drive’

If you are a new user, kindly click on Register Now, choose category as ‘IT’ and proceed to fill your details. Submit your application form and click on ‘Apply for Drive’

Step 3. Select your mode of test as In-Centre. Choose your preferred test centre and then click on ‘Apply’. Please Note, test centre once chosen cannot be changed

Step 4. To confirm your status, check ‘Track Your Application’. The status should reflect as ‘Applied for Drive.

 

Important Note:

Please note that this is an In-Centre test and registrations would be on first-come-first-serve basis.

  • You must have all your original academic documents as applicable (Marksheets and degree certificates)
  • Communication related to the Test will be shared with you by our test partner TCS iON.
  • TCS does not send job offers / any hiring related communication from unofficial email ids like Gmail, Rediff mail, Yahoo Mail, Hotmail etc. 
  • TCS does not ask candidates to deposit any money for job offers.
  • TCS is not associated with any external agency/company to conduct any interviews or make offers of employment on its behalf.

The test will be conducted physically in TCS iON Centres. 

 

The duration of the assessment is 50 minutes, and the test comprises the following sections –

  • Verbal Ability
  • Reasoning Ability
  • Numerical Ability

  • Courses & Discipline:  Candidates pursuing full time graduation in BCA, B. Sc (Math, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Biochemistry, Computer Science, IT), B. Voc in CS / IT, and graduating in 2023 are eligible to apply.
  • Percentage:  Candidates should have a minimum aggregate (All subjects in all semesters) of 50% or 5 CGPA in each of Class 10th, Class 12th, Diploma (if applicable), and Graduation examination.
  • Backlogs:  Only one backlog is permitted for the candidates from the 2023 year of passing, however all pending backlogs should be completed within the stipulated course duration.
  • Gap/Break in education: It is mandatory for students to declare gaps in education, if any. The overall academic gap should not exceed 2 years. Relevant document proof, as applicable, will be checked for gaps in education.
  • Extended education: Students should not have any extended education in their highest qualification.
  • Course Types: Only Full-Time courses will be considered (Part Time / Correspondence courses will not be considered). Candidates who have completed their Secondary and / or Senior Secondary course from NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) are also eligible to apply if other courses are full-time.
  • Age: Minimum age – 18 years and Maximum age - 28 years.
  • Work Experience: Any experience before graduation or any part-time experience is not required and hence will not be considered relevant for the recruitment process.

 

Note:  Kindly note that we have a stringent eligibility criterion and a robust selection process. Your eligibility as per defined criteria will be checked at various stages of the selection process. At any point of time if you are found ineligible, or data shared by you is found to be discrepant, your candidature will be disqualified.

Q. Where can I register for the TCS Smart Hiring YoP 2023?

A. To register, click here to fill the form and please ensure you click "Apply for Drive". 

 

Q. I am not able to find the Apply for Drive option. What should I do?

A. Once you complete your application form, logout, and login again. 

Then click on Apply for Drive. 

If you are not getting the Apply for drive option, please check the below:

a) If you have completed/submitted your application form.

b) If you have erroneously registered under BPS instead of IT (You will need to write to tcsbps.support@tcs.com for the deletion of your profile under BPS and once your profile has been deleted, please create a new profile under IT.).

c) Check the qualification you have entered in the Application form. 

d) Check the Year of Passing you have entered in the Application form.

 

Q. What will be the TCS Smart Hiring YoP 2023 pattern?

A. The TCS Smart hiring test would include the below sections-

  • Verbal Aptitude 
  • Reasoning Ability 
  • Numeric Ability

Q. Which all specializations are eligible?

A. Full-time graduates from BCA, B. Sc (Math, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Biochemistry, Computer Science, IT), B.Voc in CS / IT from the 2023 Year of Passing are eligible.  

 

Q. When are the Interviews scheduled?

A. Interview schedule will be communicated to the shortlisted students (based on the test performance) on the registered E-mail Id.

 

Q. When is the Test Date?

A. 10th February 2023

 

Q. If I already have a CT or a DT number, do I need to register again?

A. If you already have a CT or a DT reference number, please login to https://nextstep.tcs.com and proceed to submit the application form and subsequently click "Apply for Drive".

 

Q. I have forgotten my CT / DT Reference ID, where do I get it?

A. You would have got a mail upon successful registration in https://nextstep.tcs.com. The Reference ID would be mentioned in the same.

 

Q. My college has CGPA grading system. However, in my application form, there is only an option to update my marks. What should I do?

A. Please convert CGPA into marks as per the guidelines prescribed by your university/applicable in your state and complete the application form.

 

Q. Can I change my photo in the application form?

A. Yes, you can change your photograph before you 'Submit the Application Form'. Request you to carefully follow the instructions while uploading the photograph.

 

Q. I already have my CT/DT number. I need to update my marks/CGPA in my application form. How can I do so?

A. You can edit the details by clicking 'Edit Application Form' upon logging in to your NextStep account and update the required details.

 

Q. I already have my CT/DT number. Can I make changes to my Name/ Date of Birth/ Address/ Email ID / Telephone Number?

A. No, changes cannot be made to the above fields once your profile has been created.

 

Q. I am not able to download my Application Form from the Next Step Portal.

A. Please upload your photo and CV once again as per the format prescribed and then preview your Application Form. This would also allow you to download your Application Form.

 

Q. I have created two profiles. What should I do now?

A. Only one profile needs to be created per candidate. Duplicate profile should not be created. Please write to ilp.support@tcs.com for deletion of your duplicate profile.

 

Q. I am getting an error while updating my 10th or 12th Standard details in the application form. What should I do?

A. You need to enter minimum 9 months in your 10th and 12th standard course duration details.

 

Q. I am not able to participate in the test as mentioned in the schedule. Can I change the timing of the test?

A. No, the test time and date cannot be changed.

 

Q. How will we get the results of the TCS Smart Hiring YoP 2023 test?

A. Only shortlisted students will receive further communication on interview schedule on their registered e-mail IDs

 

Q. Is this a full-time or part-time job?

A. The career opportunities presented are full-time jobs.

 

Q. Do I have to incur any cost to appear for the TCS Smart Hiring?

A. TCS does not charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process. TCS is not affiliated with any agent / agency / company to make offers of employment on its behalf.

 

Q. I am not able to edit the Full Time/Part time course in my Application Form. What should I do?

A. If you are unable to edit the Full-time/Part-time course in the Application form, write to  ilp.support@tcs.com for deletion of your profile, post which you can create a new profile with the same Email ID. 

 

Q. My account is locked. How can I unlock it?

A. Request you to log on to https://nextstep.tcs.com/  
Click the “Unlock Account & Reset Password” link on the Login screen. You will receive an auto-generated email for resetting the password after 30 minutes.
Please do not click on the link repeatedly as every time you click on the link, the previous password expires, and a new password is generated and sent to your registered email address.
Request you to use a Desktop/Laptop. Please clear the cache, history and cookies and use the latest version of Internet Explorer/Google Chrome.

 

Q. What will be my work location?

A. Your joining location will be discussed with you during the interview process, and your location preference will be taken into consideration. However, the final location assigned would be at the sole discretion of TCS depending on business needs.
