To tackle the increasing prevalence of cardiovascular disease across the geography, TCS UK&I entered into a corporate charity partnership with the British Heart Foundation (BHF) in late 2016. Over a period of two years, TCS and BHF plan to help spread awareness about heart health. We also aim to raise £20,000 per year for BHF, a target that has already been met for 2017 and which we are aiming to double. Funds raised as part of this partnership will go towards a research project that aims to identify factors contributing to heart disease.
By working with the UK Bio Bank and studying the way our DNA is copied from old to new cells, this landmark project hopes to identify personal, environmental, and lifestyle factors that add to the development of cardiovascular disease. Apart from contributing to this project, we have also continued to coach our UK workforce in CPR, and are on track to meet the target of at least 10% trained employees by the end of 2017. As of August 2017, more than 900 TCS and Diligenta employees have been trained in the same.
