Here at Halfords, we're very proud of our heritage. We're over 130 years old, we are the UK's leading motoring and cycling services provider, We have nearly 400 stores, over 650 garages and we operate nationally with over 700 bands. The main challenge for Halfords relating to technology was escalating costs, partly caused by having multiple servers. As a result of that, every time we needed to change something or upgrade, we incurred duplicate costs. The other problem we had was an old and outdated infrastructure which was by its nature inefficient. The key marketplace challenge for Halfords at the moment is the consumer uncertainty and cost of living crisis that's impacting many businesses that are consumer facing across the UK at the moment. Our priority as a market leading super specialist is to continue to offer the products that customers need and the services they need at really affordable prices and to make that digital journey as simple as possible for them. The project has allowed us to really focus on our digital customer first experiences, something which Halfords has put a lot of time and effort into. And something we're really passionate about is bridging the digital and physical worlds, particularly in the services area, which is a key part of our business strategy. The most pleasing aspect of working on this project in a three-way collaboration with TCS and Microsoft was really the breadth and depth the TCS brought to the table and their expertise within the Microsoft Azure platform. Having the expertise of TCS and the Microsoft team and then working seamlessly together was a huge benefit to Halfords. We developed a significant amount of knowledge in terms of the Microsoft suite of products. Especially the cloud solutions and we have one of the largest pool of associates who are working in this Microsoft technologies. That is a value and a differentiator for us When we interact with the customers like Halfords where they are defining the next phase of their customer journey. The key developments that have strengthened our business are really being able to partner with TCS and Microsoft together. That's helped to strengthen the business case and reduce capital expenditure. In addition, being able to align and optimise usage has enabled us to reduce operating costs. Far beyond those that you normally see in traditional hosting solutions, the estimated benefit of moving to the cloud is a 36% saving by Year 5. Halfords is a journey of innovation. They're innovating for their customers and being a partner to them in this journey is very special for us. So that's why this is a win win for both the parties and we are very happy to deliver an outcome driven out of the innovation, which makes them the choice of motoring solutions for the population of UK. What we're able to achieve is a far more seamless and frictionless experience for both customers and colleagues, both in store and online.
