To cover 25 million premises BT had to build like a fury. Just building is not enough. We need to sell it too and we need to sell it with superior customer experience. It is imperative that our systems could actually support it. However, what we had were 15 year old legacy systems with Monolithic architecture.
Our cost to develop or change was very high. Our time to market was very long 
And we left enough manual touchpoints. It was simply not possible to scale with this kind of setup. And we reached out to our partners to help us find the  best-in-class solution.

It was quite a good solution. Frankly it was so good that we couldn’t really believe it. We call this solution “Oxygen”, hoping that it will breathe life into the fibre transformation journey we were on.
Oxygen is the orchestration engine, which is responsible for the whole fulfillment journey, right from receiving the order to provisioning it, fulfilling it, and finally to billing.
