My name is Preston and I am a QA technical operator. I have been working at BD for the past two years. BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies and we manufacture prefillable syringes, safety and shielding systems, self injection systems and many other products. BD 75,000 employees are advancing the world of health by improving medical discovery, diagnostics and the delivery of care. Supported by TCS, BD is now incorporating a state-of-the-art digital recording system known as the Electronic Device History Record, or EDHR. My name is Marva Schlumberger and I'm the EDHR program manager at BD. DHR is a design history file that is mandatory in all pharma industries. It contains the registration of everything that goes on during production. And Patricia Flats and the EDIA shower project lead here at BD Swindon. Today I'm getting the hands on look at the EDHR project with Preston. He's been supervising the new EDHR system and he's got positive feedback for us. I'm getting to see how the EDHR rollout is helping our shop floor teams and production. Of every product that we produce here at BD, we keep a history of how that product was made. So we were record who's been involved, what operators have been running the batch, what components were used and where did they come from, what machine settings we had, temperatures, speeds, how many samples did we take to test and confirm the quality. And currently everything that we recorded for that batch is done manually on paper. So this has always been a process that was vulnerable to human error and has been countered to our sustainability goals. So the new EDHR system is digital. The system automates the task for the user and we're pulling the information directly from the machine, which means we're not relying on the operator to fill out paperwork and the record keeping for each batch is saved on the server. So this new system will allow BD to be more agile, more sustainable and help us to maintain the quality of the products we produce. TCS brought their expertise in digital transformation. We had to build the right user stories. Build the right requirements to then have TCS developed the right software that would fit our use case. So we were agile with the shopper teams and from the development to the validation of the software, the TCS application delivery team were able to really grow a solution that started from nothing to something that now is in six plants. Our aim is 100% quality products 100% of the time. We expect EDHR will result in a faster time. Market and quicker response times to any product that doesn't meet our standard and we can really see by 2025 that thanks to the collaboration with TCS, we're going to really enable a solution that can grow and simplify the lives of more and more operators throughout BD. Today we're seeing our ADHR reduces manual effort, increases the sustainability and saves time, which frees baby to develop other technologies and solution to help patient. Live longer, happier, and healthier lives By partnering on this scalable solution. TCS is supporting BD's commitment to simplification, a key pillar of the BD 2025 strategy.
