RE’18 will offer an extensive program of interest to academia, government and industry. It will include several distinguished keynote speakers and three conference days full of papers, panels, posters and demos. A series of exciting tutorials to develop skills in and advance awareness of requirements engineering practices is of particular interest to industry. Two days of workshops as well as doctoral symposium offer forums for participants to present cutting-edge techniques and approaches in particular fields.
The goal of this track is to fill the gap between academic research in Requirements Engineering (RE) and industrial needs by providing a venue dedicated to industrial research and innovation. Being on the cusp of hyper-personalization in this era of Industry 4.0 presents interesting prospects for our field in terms of customers’ expectations with respect to products and services and encourages us to revisit our assumptions about “how RE should be done.” In keeping with the RE 18 theme, Crossing Boundaries and Increasing Impact, we invite authors from academia and industry – both large corporations and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) – to submit original contributions reporting on the innovative development and application of RE solutions in industrial, government, or open-source settings, as well as the development of novel engineering tools to enable the use of RE in such contexts.
Dr. Smita S. Ghaisas, Principal Scientist, TRDDC, TCS is the Industrial Innovation Co-Chair for the 26th IEEE Requirements Engineering Conference, along with Prof. Lionel Briand of University of Luxembourgh.
