Cotton Boys dominate @ Bangalore

It is perhaps the biggest inter school quiz in Bangalore with all the top schools vying for top honours. The tension could be felt in the air as 1200 plus children gathered for the Bangalore edition of TCS IT Wiz 2009.

If the posers in thrown by Pickbrain left the audience stunned to silence but the wiz kids of Bangalore just knew it all and lived up to the IT powerhouse reputation of the city they live in stunning the audience even more. The amazing display of knowledge prompted the guest of honour Mr. Sudhakar Rao, chief secretary, government of Karnataka to comment that "These kids are the future of India and it indicates to a bright future" - he also added that it was one of most enjoyable afternoons he had spent in a long while.

The six finalists were:

NPS Koramangala - Rooshil Shah & Madhusudan
St Joseph's Boys High School - Rohan Mehta & Sonal Saldanha
National Academy for Learning - MD.Omar & Vatsal Purohit
Bishop Cotton Boys School - Rishab Mehta & Manish Burman
Frank Anthony Public School - Arvind. V & Jeydev
Sri Kumaran Childrens Home( CBSE ) - Pavan B & Nagabharan.N

Rishab Mehta and Manish Burman from Bishop Cotton Boys School emerged as winners. Rohan Mehta and Sonal Saldanha from St Joseph's Boys High School edged part NPS Koramagala in a tie breaker to emerge runners up in the close contest. The winners got a huge bag of prizes including a laptop each while the runners up walked away with digital cameras and a digital photo frame each. All the finalists received prizes as well.
