The COVID-19 pandemic has altered some critical aspects of human life permanently, which calls for revisiting of a few areas in light of the new normal. One of such areas is first aid. While the post-pandemic world changes social behavior, diseases and emergencies continue to influence human life in the same way. In fact, with fewer visits to the hospital and a large proportion of health workers consumed by the pandemic, the need for first aid is more pronounced. However, the nature of infection of COVID-19 requires to revisit the first aid practice to ensure the safety of both, the rescuer, and the victim. This article sums up medical, behavioral, logistical and psychological changes needed to accommodate COVID-19-induced protocols in providing first-aid to ensure safety of the caregiver and the patient.
