TCS and AGL Project Wins SAP Customer Award of Excellence 2013
TCS and AGL, one of Australia’s leading integrated renewable energy companies, have jointly won the SAP Award of Excellence for Best Run Analytics for “Data Intelligence Program – SAP HANA,” a major initiative to manage the overall change in AGL’s IT environment resulting from the rollout of the smart electricity meters replacing the existing basic meters in the state of Victoria, Australia.
AGL engaged TCS as its strategic IT partner to implement SAP HANA (High Performance Analytical Appliance). The focus was to build a high performance analytics and reporting tool capable of handling a huge volume of incoming reads. SAP HANA was implemented through the award-winning Data Intelligence (DI) program for managing the smart meter growth in an efficient way and build an efficient reporting solution.
TCS acted as System Integrator to deliver the end-to-end solution with SAP as the product support lead. The project has been successful for AGL, bringing about improved business processes, data quality, reporting, forecasting and budgeting, thereby resulting in improved business efficiency and a more consistent and improved customer experience.
TCS and AGL were recipients of the 2012 SAP Customer Award of Excellence for “Project Spectrum,” a major initiative to transform AGL’s billing processes and services.
The SAP Customer Excellence Awards are intended to reflect the passions of customer success, accountability, innovation, professionalism and teamwork. In selecting the winner, the judges looked for those projects that capture these passions, and best showcase the ability of an organization to run better as a result of people teaming around SAP solutions.
