  • Nordea to gain access to the TCS Co-Innovation Network (COINTM)

Stockholm | Mumbai, 15th June, 2016: Tata Consultancy Services (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS) a leading global IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, has partnered with Nordea, the largest financial services group in the Nordic and Baltic region, as part of the Nordea Startup Accelerator FinTech development program.

An intensive, 12-week programme designed to accelerate the growth of FinTech startups, the Nordea Startup Accelerator is the largest startup development program in the Nordic region. It offers startups a unique opportunity to collaborate with external entrepreneurs, international technology specialists, Nordea experts and key decision-makers. Nordea runs the program together with Nestholma Venture Accelerator.

Tommi Mäkinen, TCS’ Digital Transformation Lead, Nordics,  said; “We are thrilled to join forces with Nordea. The Nordic region is well known for its vibrant FinTech sector, and Nordea Startup Accelerator is making a real contribution to the growth of this market. TCS already works with some of the most promising startups in the world, partnering with them to drive innovation and create specialised offerings for our clients. We are delighted to bring our expertise to the table, and look forward to working with some of the region’s most promising startups and next generation technologies.”

TCS will draw on its Co-Innovation Network (COINTM) and its extensive experience with enterprise clients to provide startups with insight into the latest technology trends, client requirements and industry best practice. Senior TCS executives will mentor entrepreneurs in the Nordea Startup Accelerator and coach teams on technology and business topics.

The TCS Co-Innovation Network (COINTM) is a global network of startups, venture capitalists, strategic alliance partners, academics,  government and trade bodies, clients and TCS industry experts. Based around TCS Innovation Labs worldwide, COIN provides TCS’ clients with access to emerging technologies and provides an environment for sophisticated IT research in disruptive innovation across sectors and industries.

Jan Sirich, Head of Experimentation and Learning at Nordea, commented; “By teaming up with one of the world’s largest technology consultancies, startups will have access to a broader range of capabilities.  We are also able to provide an international benchmark for technology innovation and an extended range of opportunities for startups. I believe this makes the Nordea Accelerator’s already strong offering even more appealing by providing a truly unique opportunity for this community.”

In 2016, the Nordea Startup Accelerator will invite 50 of the most promising startups to a coaching and qualification week which takes place in Oslo, Norway, in August. Approximately 25 of the contenders will also get the opportunity to engage in innovative projects with Nordea, Nestholma and TCS between September and December in Helsinki and Stockholm.
