The pandemic of 2020 forced industry to rethink traditional ways of doing and managing business. One such challenge has been maintaining meaningful connection in the absence of physical interaction. We chalked out a plan to tide over this challenge when we decided to host our 2020 Annual General Meeting (AGM) online. In doing so, not only did we bring together over 1,300 of our shareholders worldwide on a single platform, but we also became the first Indian company to reach out to them on this scale and in this fashion.
The first step was collaborating with India’s National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) and using a cloud-based tool to ensure a smooth and secure execution of the event.
The TCS-AGM application was designed to address shareholder questions and deliver feedback in real time. It became the core platform for the event. Equipped with a tailor-made solution, multi-layered backups, and comprehensive guidelines -- from technical know-how to security instructions – it was the medium that formed the basis for the virtual rollout of the event.
Shareholders had to simply register themselves on the NSDL portal prior to the event, to receive a link to join the webcast on AGM day.
