Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) is the largest electricity utility not only in Malaysia but also Southeast Asia, and one of the largest distribution grids in Asia. The impending deregulation of the electricity market in Malaysia will intensify competition and serve as a catalyst for utility companies in the country to reimagine their businesses with new-age technologies. To cushion any impact the deregulation may have on its business, TNB undertook an opex optimization initiative, for which it sought TCS' services.
TCS implemented a solution that digitized TNB’s manual and siloed processes
TCS deployed a business process management solution which identifies complex information flows between stakeholders. The solution is also equipped with mobile applications and includes a gamification layer to identify and reward top performers. Overall, the solution not only enhances workforce productivity but also increases agility.
Besides this, the solution provides managers with real-time dashboards to help them quickly make decisions and ensure workflow transparency across the many complex processes that are digitized within the distribution network.
