In 2025, we had the continued privilege of working alongside many customers to support their diverse transformation journeys. I extend my heartfelt gratitude for the trust and confidence you have placed in us.
Amid global uncertainty, businesses face ever more complex challenges. Against this backdrop, TCS remains fully committed to enabling transformation for our customers in Japan through technology, and contributing to Japan’s growth. In the year ahead, we will honor this responsibility by fostering strong, value-driven collaborations.
Today’s business challenges are multi-layered. Legacy systems impose operational burdens and technical debt, slowing decision-making and constraining future investment. In Japan, these issues are compounded by a shortage of skilled talent, traditional organizational structures that hinder transformation, and persistent difficulties in cross-departmental collaboration—placing additional strain on overall organizational operations.
At the same time, global collaboration is expanding, requiring businesses to adapt to diverse models shaped by market constraints, technology, culture, language, and local practices. This calls for multifaceted decision-making and a willingness to rethink Japan’s digital foundation, leveraging AI-driven modernization and global rollout. For sustainable growth, companies need a foundation that is both robust and adaptive.
TCS Japan is driving initiatives that empower customers to take bold steps toward the future through AI-driven approaches. At the center of these efforts is the TCS AI Studio, a hub for envisioning, defining, and realizing AI journeys. By enhancing process improvement and data utilization, we help companies overcome structural challenges and make better decisions.
These efforts align with TCS’ global AI strategy. Last year, we announced our vision to become the world’s largest AI-driven technology services company. We delivered AI solutions to over 3,000 customers worldwide, while internally accelerating adoption through the tcsAI (to be read as 'TCS to the power of AI') initiative. The tcsAI Hackathon 2025 saw participation from more than 281,000 people globally, sparking innovation across teams.
We also advanced future-oriented initiatives such as the Intelligent Choice Architecture (ICA) concept, jointly announced with MIT Sloan Management Review, and our plan for a 1GW-scale AI data center in India. Across large-scale global transformation programs, we have engaged in deep dialogue with customers, aligning with their strategies and deploying agile solutions tailored to local needs. Balancing speed and quality is never easy, but we believe that achieving both is central to our role.
Building our organizational capability is essential to delivering sustained value to our customers. At TCS Japan, our associates clocked over 158,000 cumulative learning hours by March 2025 to strengthen technical and multicultural competencies, helping us consistently upgrade our talent quality.
In addition, to ensure that we reliably meet Japanese business acumen and quality standards, we continue to leverage our Japan-centric Delivery Centers (JDCs) in India―our dedicated hubs for development and operations for Japanese companies―as part of our hybrid global-local delivery model. Building on this approach, we opened the Shikoku Digital Innovation Hub in Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture in October 2025. This hub addresses issues such as talent outflow from local areas and declining student numbers at regional universities, while nurturing future professionals. These efforts create new career opportunities—ultimately ensuring a stable supply of skilled talent and higher service quality for our customers.
Since becoming one of the first Indian IT companies to enter Japan, TCS has grown alongside customers for more than 35 years, building on a relationship where Japan and India have long complemented each other’s strengths in technology, talent, and business. Over this long history of collaboration—and through 11 years as TCS Japan—we have matured our global and local delivery capabilities, creating a robust foundation to provide distinctive value to Japanese companies today.
Yet technology alone does not sustain this foundation. It is the dialogue we share and the trust we build that form the core of our long-term partnerships, and the source of sustained value.
I am personally committed to deepening these relationships and working closely with you to realize the future you envision. Looking ahead to the next decade and beyond, I am confident that our collaboration will be even more fruitful. TCS Japan will remain steadfast in supporting your growth and transformation—drawing on the full breadth of TCS’ global knowledge and talent.
I wish you continued success and prosperity in the year ahead.
