DPS, Bhopal : Nischay S and Hardik P

Sacred Hearts, Kota : Animesh and Yash K

Over 1300 students at the quiz and the auditorium was buzzing even before the word go. Many students choosing to stand outside just to catch a glimpse of the quizmaster as he arrived underlined their passion.

Quizmaster Pickbrain set the tone saying he was impressed with the fact that several teams had come from cities and towns around Indore travelling from Bhopal, Kota, Ujjain and other towns. He got down to business and breezed through a fairly tough set of 20 questions as part of the prelim.

St. Pauls School : Rajiv Gulani and Rishabh Patidar
Shishukunj International : Abhimanyu and Seshal Jain
Indus World : Arpan and Archit
Emerald Heights : Dev Seth and Vaibhav Singh
DPS, Bhopal : Nischay S and Hardik P
Sacred Hearts, Kota : Animesh and Yash K

The final was an amazing battle with four of the six teams battling on an even footing from the very first question. The battle continued in a similar fashion with Shishukunj International, Emerald Heights, DPS Bhopal and Sacred Hearts all exchanging lead positions regularly.

The team from DPS Bhopal went ahead in the penultimate round and started holding on to that lead. It was a brave heart Emerald Heights that tried to chase them down and in the process lost out on the runner up position. Pickbrain appreciated them and pointed out that the spirit to try and win is important even if you lost some times.

Sacred Heart which had also done well, with these teams benefitted from the Emerald Heights charge and finished runner-up, while a consistent DPS Bhopal held their own to win a memorable title.

The guest of honour, Mr. Chaitanya Sathe, Vice President and Head Business Operations, TCS Mumbai appreciated the teams and observed how the geography of a school, whether it was a tier 1,2 or 3 city hardly mattered when it came to capability and areas like IT.
