The Capital Markets Product Management team formed the TCS BaNCS User Groups for Corporate Actions in mid 2013. The primary purpose of this group is providing a platform for users of the TCS BaNCS CA system to meet at forums on a regular basis to discuss current industry trends, best market practices and other topics of common interest, within the context of the corporate actions industry or the TCS BaNCS CA product.
Additionally, these forums provide the opportunity to inform the user community of forthcoming changes planned for the product and to solicit feedback and ideas directly from them. All suggestions are reviewed and those representing a significant improvement to the product are included in the product roadmap.
TCS BaNCS User Groups Schedule
User groups have now been established in UK/Europe and the US. Forums of these groups have been held twice in London, June 2013 and January 2014 and twice in New York, October 2013 and February 2014, establishing them on a six monthly cycle. Plans are being considered to set up additional user groups in Singapore and South Africa/Middle East.
Emanating from the forums held to date, working groups have been formed to explore possible changes to improve usability and to the migration process. Further working groups are being set up to look into process improvements, announcement capture and metrics reporting.
The feedback from the users following the forums and working groups has been very encouraging, with a high level of interest in how the user groups evolve and in their involvement in the change process.
Finterest is the primary communication channel between TCS and the user groups where the users are required to register. The CA portal in Finterest is used to post invitations to the forums and working groups, to capture their responses, and publish reading material relating to these events such as the presentations and meeting minutes.
This channel is evolving to engage the user community in an interactive manner. Users can submit proposals for topics to be discussed at forthcoming forums, suggest ideas for potential improvements to the product and initiate or contribute to discussion threads on subjects of common interest.
Finterest is fast gathering momentum, and in future, will be a key component in delivering the TCS BaNCS CA product.
