TCS’ flagship program—goIT, creates a platform for students to express their creativity by designing unique and relevant solutions to global problems.
It offers students and young adults an experiential look at possibilities for their future and provides resources that make future-ready critical concepts both engaging and accessible.
Around the world, there are more jobs in STEM and computer science than there are qualified candidates to fill those positions.
There is also a lack of understanding of what goes into becoming a STEM or computer science professional.
Through engaging design workshops and custom mentorship experiences, goIT helps students by challenging stereotypes and inspiring future leaders to pursue the careers of tomorrow. It helps students develop essential future ready skills (21st Century, technical, Innovation, and career readiness skills) using a four-pronged model, which includes in-person or virtual volunteer-driven engagements, round-the-year goIT online connects, monthly challenges centered around the UN SDGs, and mentorship by industry professionals from TCS.
As goIT’s oldest and most widely adopted program offering, goIT Live is used in thousands of schools around the world to bring digital innovation directly into the classroom.
Students dive deep into the industry-designed and teacher-tested program modules to explore concepts like the STEM skills gap, design thinking, problem solving, rapid prototyping, and creating an entrepreneurial pitch, all alongside the support of TCS industry experts.
The program allows students to explore problems in their community related to the UN SDGs while working in teams to create digital solutions to solve them. At the end of the program, students get an opportunity to share their ideas.
Launch of Generative AI pathway
The global launch of the Generative AI (GenAI) tech pathway as part of the goIT Live offering in 2025, introduced students to GenAI, its tools, ethical considerations, and real-world applications.
Students learn how to use GenAI to create prototypes addressing the UN SDGs. By fostering creativity, critical thinking, and responsible innovation, this pathway empowers students to leverage AI for a sustainable future.
The program is flexible and can be used in classrooms or extracurricular programs such as after-school clubs, community programs, or summer camps, offering students hands-on, real-world learning experiences.
Some of the learning objectives include:
The goIT Monthly Challenge encourages students to develop critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills creatively by addressing global challenges through technology for a sustainable future.
This offering is flexible and can be integrated into classrooms, extracurriculars or done independently year-round. By focusing on the UN SDGs, students connect global issues to their local communities, use technology to create innovative solutions, and become leaders of change.
goIT online is an immersive program that blends design thinking and technology to help students self-direct their learning as they tackle real-world problems.
Through the company’s digitized version of the traditional goIT Live program, students focus on using technology to solve global problems. They apply their knowledge to develop innovative solutions and craft compelling pitches to showcase their ideas.
Designed for self-paced learning or as a supplement to existing curricula, it fosters creativity, problem-solving, and real-world application of technology and innovation.
goIT Work Experience offers students an immersive, hands-on experience where they explore technology, innovation, and career discovery.
Custom experiences may include mentorship, mini lessons, workshops, and expert talks to equip learners with the tools they need to thrive in a rapidly evolving world. Through real-world experiences, direct interaction with TCS mentors, and interactions with leading industry experts, participants gain essential skills to become confident, career-ready citizens.
The TCS goIT Global Innovator of the Year competition is part of TCS’ commitment to engage youth with meaningful computer science projects that encourage them to pursue STEM careers.
The program is designed to inspire them to become global citizens, aware of their role in their community. It positions them as future leaders committed to driving sustainable and inclusive solutions. Each year, The Global Innovator of the Year recognizes top goIT innovations around the world.
