Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging at the workplace are critical human, social, and business imperatives. TCS comprises a workforce that is almost half a million employees across seven geographies and 46 countries. The presence of diversity and the intentionality towards creating equitable ecosystems, inclusive behaviors and practices are the bedrock of our organizational vision and culture. Our aim is to enable, develop, provide an inclusive ecosystem and engage all our associates with our motto of “inclusion without exception”.

The Allies of Diversity Conclave held in July 2019 in India, initiated an active conversation on how we see, claim and engage diversity. The conclave saw participants and volunteers across TCS actively engage in generative conversations towards deep democracy and inclusive behaviors. Following this, the UK chapter was held in London in February 2020. 




The idea behind the conclave was to appreciate ourselves as an organization of people who are different from one another with diverse thinking styles, behaviors, expertise, and personalities. It aimed at intentional change and a shared understanding of diversity with the collective vision to include all diverse identities and mindsets. As a first-of-its-kind DEI conclave, there was representation from diverse identity segments–across gender, LGBTQ+, people with disabilities, race and ethnicity, and veterans, harnessing the power of the collective in an attempt to co-create a new way forward. 

In this journey, we believe in deeper value integration and alignment on our human and social objectives. Keeping this vision in mind, the conclave served as a foundation for ‘Allies of Diversity’ program. Launched in June 2020, the program invites senior leadership from TCS’ client organizations. The proposed agenda for the event includes a conversation on diversity best practices, personal persuasion, promoting allyship as well as Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and affinity groups. 

This is an ongoing initiative that ensures participating organizations an opportunity for shared dialogue on best practices and facilitates the ability to be inclusive.
