MUMBAI, August 12, 2025 – Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a global IT services leader, celebrates International Youth Day by reaffirming its commitment to empowering India’s youth. The TCS Youth Employment Program (YEP) has equipped over 1.85 lakh young individuals across all states and union territories with marketable skills, industry-relevant credentials, and valuable certifications since its inception in 2010. This milestone strengthens TCS’s vision of building an inclusive, future-ready workforce capable of thriving in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
At the heart of its initiatives are several merit-based programs designed to include youth from diverse backgrounds. TCS’s flagship Youth Employment Program (YEP) through its transformative Teach, Coach, Mentor, and Place’ model, has enabled over 43,800 students to secure formal employment. This includes more than 41,800 young women and 12,500 youth from underrepresented communities, reflecting the company’s commitment to inclusive growth. Strengthening its reach and accessibility, YEP is now supported by a free digital learning portal that enables eligible learners to access training anytime, anywhere; effectively overcoming geographical and infrastructural barriers.
Joseph Sunil Nallapalli, Head – Corporate Social Responsibility, TCS, said, “Today’s dynamic work environment demands youth who are ready to contribute from day one. At TCS, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to step into the future with confidence. Our Youth Employment Program is a testament to the transformative power of skilling—equipping young individuals with the capabilities and support needed to thrive in the workforce and helping them transition from college to careers. Through initiatives like BridgeIT, we’re extending this impact by empowering youth and women to become digital entrepreneurs who uplift entire communities, and through our school programs, we are preparing students with essential 21st century skills for jobs of the future. Together, we are not just building careers—we are shaping changemakers.”
These core programs are complemented by other targeted initiatives that build future-ready skills. In FY 2025, Ignite My Future (IMF) program enabled over 5,800 teachers to prepare 266,900+ students for the AI era by integrating Computational Thinking (CT), a foundational 21st century skill, into all core subjects. TCS go Innovate Together (goIT) is a career readiness program that equips students with future ready skills, inspiring them to become innovators while helping them solve societal problems. In FY 2025, goIT inspired 81,374 students across 50 countries to apply 21st Century Skills and latest technologies like AI, IoT, and App Design to solve real-world problems in their communities.
Meanwhile, in rural India, the BridgeIT program has established 1,700+ digital entrepreneurs, aka ‘digipreneurs’, mostly women, who deliver essential digital services to over 744,000 citizens across 4,457 villages, annually. The program bridges the socio-economic divide in rural India by cultivating a network of community-based digital entrepreneurs who deliver essential services and enable last-mile digital inclusion across thousands of underserved villages. These interventions come at an important moment in India’s digital and economic transformation, where the demand for skilled talent is more urgent than ever. TCS is playing a pivotal role in accelerating India’s growth, with its youth-focused programs paving the way for a digitally skilled nation. By embedding skilling, mentorship, and real-world experience into its youth development model, TCS is not only addressing immediate employability needs but also contributing to the long-term resilience and inclusivity of the national workforce.
