Growing Through Teamwork and Challenges at TCS
I started at TCS 8 years ago as a trainee, focusing mainly on documentation and programming support. I had no idea how far I would progress, but from the start, the company’s culture inspired me. I recall hearing about our CEO's journey in Peru, who also began as a trainee, which motivated me to imagine a future for myself at TCS.
As time passed, I advanced to a programmer analyst and gradually took on more responsibilities, beginning with quality assurance and project oversight. This was my first taste of management, where I learned to manage resources and ensure objectives were achieved. When TCS implemented agile methodologies in 2019, I seized the opportunity to become certified as a Scrum Master and lead teams in a more agile and collaborative manner.
A pivotal moment in my career was transitioning to a PMO analyst position in the financial sector. It was a significant challenge since it involved financial management, an area where I had limited experience. However, I was not alone. The encouragement from my leaders and colleagues made a huge difference. This is where I truly grasped the TCS value of ‘learning and sharing’. This collaborative environment enabled my success and ultimately led me to the PMO Lead position in 2023.
Reflecting on my journey, what stands out most is not just the positions I’ve held, but the sense of teamwork and belonging. At TCS, there is always someone ready to help or connect you with the right person. This spirit of collaboration has influenced my entire path. Every challenge has been tough, but also an opportunity to grow and affirm that it is indeed possible to build a strong and rewarding career here. My advice to newcomers is to fully utilize every resource and opportunity the company provides, as they are essential for personal and professional growth.
