About Research and Innovation at TCS

Research and Innovation (R&I) at TCS began in 1981 with the launch of the Tata Research Development and Design Centre (TRDDC) in Pune. Established to anticipate technological forces shaping industry and society, we focused on building research strength in emerging technologies and leveraging that expertise to drive positive outcomes for customers and society.

Today, TCS powers a vibrant global innovation ecosystem with 45+ research and innovation centres, including nine TCS Pace Ports^TM and five Pace Studios, and extensive partnerships with academic institutions and start-ups across the globe, fuelling new ideas with research, invention, and innovation.
