Puratos, headquartered in Belgium, is a global provider of innovative ingredients and solutions for the bakery, patisserie, and chocolate sectors. It has been serving customers for over a century.
The company faced challenges in managing its decentralized procurement processes, particularly due to a high volume of non-purchase order (PO) invoices, which made cost control and reporting difficult.
To address these challenges, Puratos sought a solution to simplify the procurement experience, like e-commerce, while ensuring compliance with internal procurement policies. The goal was to centralize procurement operations and improve transparency across the organization.
Puratos identified TCS TAP to streamline procurement and improve spend visibility.
Program objectives were as follows:
TCS implemented TAP, a centralized procurement platform designed to enhance spend management. With TCS TAP, Puratos significantly reduced the volume of non-PO invoices by introducing structured PO-types, enabling better spend analysis and reporting.
The solution includes features such as catalogs, requisitions, and purchase orders, all fully integrated with Puratos’ SAP ERP Central Component (ECC). This integration allowed seamless data flow and supported end-to-end process monitoring and user communication.
Puratos increased its catalog-based spending and three-way matching rates, while reducing its procurement cycle time and the percentage of invoices without a PO. These improvements empowered Puratos to gain greater control over procurement, enhance compliance, and drive operational efficiency across its global operations.
