Mr. Keki M Mistry is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. A renowned professional with over four decades of varied work experience in banking and financial services domain.
In 1975, Mr. Mistry began his career with AF Ferguson & Co, a renowned Chartered Accountancy Firm, followed by short stints with Hindustan Unilever Limited and Indian Hotels Company Ltd.
For his business leadership, he has received numerous awards from several corporate and community organizations.
In 1981, Mr. Mistry joined Housing Development Finance Corporation Limited (HDFC Ltd.), India's premier housing finance company. Over the years he held several responsibilities, prior to being inducted onto its Board as Executive Director in 1993. He was appointed as the Managing Director in 2000, as the Vice Chairman & Managing Director in October 2007 and was the Vice-Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation with effect from
January 1, 2010. With the amalgamation of HDFC Ltd. with HDFC Bank, Mr. Mistry superannuated from HDFC Ltd. and has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of HDFC Bank from June 30, 2023. Apart from being responsible for the overall functioning of HDFC, Mr. Mistry played a critical role in the successful transformation of HDFC into India's leading Financial Services Conglomerate. He facilitated the formation of companies including HDFC Bank Limited, HDFC Asset Management Company Limited, HDFC Life Insurance Company Limited and HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company Limited.
Mr. Mistry is a Senior Advisor to the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP), a Canada based pension fund, a Strategic Advisor for Cyrus Poonawalla Group’s Financial Services Ventures and also an advisor to Nish Capital (Kedaara), Witkopeend BV, Netherlands, an EQT Group. He is also appointed as a consultant to Jones Lang LaSalle Property Consultants (India) Private Limited.
He is also on the Advisory Boards of PWC India and Axis MF with regard to Real Estate. Mr. Mistry is presently the Chairman of the Primary Market Advisory Committee (PMAC) constituted by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the Governance Committee of Corporate Debt Market Development Fund of SBI Fund Management Limited and FICCI’s Capital Markets Committee - specialised sub-group on Debt. He also Co-Chairs the B20 [South Africa 2025] Task Force on Integrity & Compliance. He is also a member of SEBI’s Advisory Committee on Listing Obligations and Disclosures (ACLOD), and the ‘Standing Committee on Primary Markets’ constituted by the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA).
He is Chairman on the Board of HDFC Life Insurance Company Limited and HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company Limited and is a Director on the Board of HDFC Bank Limited, HDFC Capital Advisors Limited, The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited, KATB Consultant Private Limited, Brookprop Management Services Private Limited and Flipkart Private Limited, Singapore.
