STOCKHOLM | MUMBAI, September 05, 2024: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a global leader in IT services, consulting, and business solutions, has extended its title sponsorship and technology partnership with Lidingöloppet, the world’s largest cross-country race. After a successful eight-year partnership with the iconic race, TCS has renewed its collaboration until 2026, underscoring its commitment to leveraging technology to enhance participant and spectator experiences at Lidingöloppet.
Held every year in September on the scenic island of Lidingö, near Stockholm, Sweden, TCS Lidingöloppet offers participants an exhilarating open terrain, featuring eleven races, including the challenging 30k and 15k routes. Since its inception in 1965, Lidingöloppet has attracted runners from across the globe to its annual cross-country race, with TCS joining as a partner in 2016. Today, the iconic event unites over 25,000 participants from 75 countries and captivates a diverse audience of over 70,000 spectators.

TCS Lidingöloppet prioritizes environmental sustainability as a core focus area, alongside its mission to deliver an exhilarating cross-country race experience. The race will focus on two key areas: minimizing the climate impact from travel and logistics associated with the races and ensuring responsible waste management practices throughout the event.
The race collaborates with various transportation partners such as SJ (the largest Swedish train carrier) to offer environmentally safe travel options to participants. Furthermore, TCS Lidingöloppet’s commitment extends to comprehensive waste management, where 100% of the waste generated at the race is sorted into different categories for recycling.
Globally, TCS partners with 14 running events, including four World Marathon Major races in New York, London, Chicago and Boston, alongside marathons in Sydney, Amsterdam, Mumbai, Singapore and Toronto. Across the TCS-sponsored running events, the TCS marathon app exceeded two million downloads last year. In 2023 alone, TCS-sponsored races collectively raised over $110 million for charity, exemplifying TCS’ dedication to societal impact.
