SANTA CLARA | MUMBAI, September 27, 2017: Tata Consultancy Services (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a leading global IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, today announced that it will set up an artificial intelligence (AI) Center of Excellence (CoE) with Intel to accelerate adoption of AI solutions.
The new AI CoE will be equipped with the latest technologies and experts to assist Intel® Nervana™ AI Academy members, including developers, data scientists, students, professors, and startups, in developing AI solutions. In addition, the CoE will collaborate with academic communities to develop new algorithms for AI, support AI research projects and enhance teaching content delivered in the classroom. The CoE will have a strategic physical and online presence across Americas, Asia Pacific, PRC, and Europe, to seamlessly collaborate with global customers to support and propel their initiatives from conceptualization to implementation. These solutions will utilize machine Learning and deep learning libraries optimized for the Intel® portfolio of technologies, including Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors, Intel® Xeon Phi™ processors, and Intel® Nervana™ technologies.
“AI is already beginning to play an important role in helping enterprises re-imagine their products and services, drive revenue, realize business efficiencies, and enrich the customer experience. Harnessing the power of AI as part of a digital transformation strategy will be key in creating the intelligent enterprise of tomorrow,” said V Rajanna, Vice President and Global Head, Technology Business Unit, TCS.
There has been an explosion of data as organizations have started harnessing machine data from Internet of Things (IoT) devices in addition to traditional data sources, and this has laid the foundation for big data platforms. Organizations are focusing on building intelligent systems that can learn from data and conventional insights and make automated, smarter, real-time, human-like decisions to solve large-scale problems across industries and to address societal needs. TCS’ contextual knowledge of various industries and deep AI expertise, coupled with Intel’s state-of-the-art AI product portfolio, offers the necessary ecosystem for helping enterprises rapidly adopt AI technologies to differentiate themselves and achieve a strategic advantage in the marketplace.
“Intel is dedicated to bringing the latest AI technology and education to developers and universities around the world. Collaborating with leaders in the industry allows us to further support the expanding global community of developers, students, professors, and startups who are working on groundbreaking research, new algorithms, and disruptive products and solutions. TCS is an excellent company to join forces with as a pioneer in innovation, with its deep industry knowledge, experience, and technical expertise,” said Morris Beton, Vice President of Software and Services Group and General Manager of Developer Relations Division at Intel Corporation.
“TCS’ Enterprise Intelligent Automation service line includes a comprehensive automation portfolio covering IT Services, IT Operations and Business Processes, coupled with deep domain capabilities, that are well positioned to play an instrumental role in translating enterprises' objectives,” said PR Krishnan, Executive Vice President and Global Head, Enterprise Intelligent Automation Business Unit, TCS. “As enterprises move towards a cognitive driven era, this partnership between TCS and Intel further strengthens our commitment to usher in digital transformation for customers through the latest AI technologies.”
