SYDNEY | MUMBAI, April 12, 2019: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a leading global IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, has launched the official app for the 2019 Australian Running Festival, with several new key features.
TCS is the presenting partner and official app sponsor for the second year running. The cutting-edge Australian Running Festival app will assist runners in performing their best and offer spectators the most interactive experience yet.
Available on iPhone and Android, the Australian Running Festival app has all the important information runners and spectators need to plan race day with ease, from registration and transport to event details and entertainment around the Festival Village. Key features include:
“We are proud to be continuing our partnerships with the Australian Running Festival and the Indigenous Marathon Foundation to support the health and wellbeing of runners in Australia and across our indigenous communities,” said Vikram Singh, Head of Australia and New Zealand, TCS. “We are also proud to give event runners and spectators the best possible experience with our latest app.”
2019 also marks the second year of TCS’ continued partnership with the Indigenous Marathon Foundation (IMF) that is part of the ‘Together, we run!’ campaign that aims to build a healthier society through running. This year, TCS is supporting a squad of Indigenous runners from IMF’s Deadly Running Australia program, called the Murraylands Deadly Runners, to travel from their home in Murray Bridge in South Australia to run with #TeamTCS at the Australian Running Festival.
“By creating a fun and inclusive environment and using technology to achieve greater connectivity, we are helping more Indigenous Australians to be involved in running and fitness groups and to learn about health and physical education,” said Robert de Castella, Founder, IMF.
Established in 2009, the IMF is a not-for-profit organisation that offers running and physical activity programs to promote health and fitness in Indigenous communities. IMF was selected to be part of TCS’ Community Innovation Program in 2017. This led to the development of the Indigenous Marathon Foundation-Deadly Running Connect (IMF-DRC) app, which gives Indigenous runners, even in the most remote communities, access to coaches, training plans and support.
