Nikkie Asian Review
In a recent interview with a leading Japanese publication, Nikkei Asian Review (NAR), Girish Ramachandran, President, TCS Asia Pacific, said that China is a very big market posing significant opportunity for TCS and that China can become a hub for global customer.
"China is a very, very big market and that is a significant priority for us. We are looking at how we can deliver value for more customers in China; how we can get significant business out of China”, told Girish to NAR. TCS’ six delivery centers in China employ over 2,500 people with 97% being the locals.
Girish also discusses TCS’ growth in Asia Pacific region stating that “Asia pacific is going to grow faster than most of the mature markets.” In the quarter ending FY15, Asia-Pacific reported 49.5% growth in revenues, against TCS's consolidated growth of 15%.
Moreover, going digital is the next big transition most companies are slowly undertaking and some aggressively. Girish explained that Asia-Pacific region’s adoption to information technology varies considerably depending on the country. Nonetheless, he added that these emerging technologies that give companies unprecedented ability to sift and adapt to the dynamic changes in customer preferences will be applicable to Asia Pacific as well.
TCS is making huge investments in ‘Digital Five Forces’, with a goal of generating $5 billion in revenues over the next few years from Digital realm alone. And according to Girish, Asia Pacific will contribute a significant portion to this initiative. The future looks bright for TCS in Asia Pacific.
