To unlock peak efficiency at every E‑Prix, Jaguar TCS Racing relies on advanced simulation to make faster, smarter setup decisions with support from TCS.

Challenge

Every driver has an optimal setup for every circuit. Every E-Prix has varying surfaces, layouts, and weather conditions. Jaguar TCS Racing engineers face thousands of possible configuration decisions at each E‑Prix.

The V3M Solution

TCS enables Jaguar TCS Racing to turn complex setup choices into data-backed decisions. Developed by TCS, the Virtual Vehicle Validation Model – or V3M – enables Jaguar TCS Racing engineers to generate more data and test more setup variations. This allows them to rapidly narrow thousands of setup combinations to the few that matter most for optimising the performance of the Jaguar I-TYPE 7.

Braking performance is vital to maximising the Jaguar I-TYPE 7’s efficiency and is pivotal to on track success.

Before the V3M

Braking tests were constrained by driver availability and simulator time.

After

The V3M removes those constraints, enabling high-volume, repeatable braking tests without a driver.

By automating repetitive braking tests, the V3M frees team engineers to focus on analysis—turning virtual laps into refined braking strategies before race weekend.

Technological advancements being developed and tested on the racetrack often make their way to the consumer market, making driving safer, more enjoyable, and sustainable. The future of mobility is tailored, hyper-personalized experiences and product customization.

Mobility is becoming more intelligent, with the automotive industry at the forefront of this transformation. As the role of software in mobility grows with vehicles rapidly adopting Software Defined models predominantly managed through software and a data-driven approach.

Generative AI enhances AV research and development by allowing TCS scientists to explore various real-world scenarios in our labs. For example, we can simulate and test how a vehicle responds to diverse conditions from navigating snow to handling heavy rains or waterlogging. This flexibility enables us to test vehicle performance in countless scenarios, training AVs to operate safely while facing a range of challenges.

Jaguar TCS Racing’s participation in Formula E is accelerating research and innovation in electric mobility. This could have a profoundly positive impact on climate change while improving urban health with better air quality, road safety, and connected mobility.

Our approach to sustainability is more than just electrification of automobile industry. The GEN3 Evo Jaguar car is based on Life Cycle Thinking with a clear path towards second life and end of life for all tires, auto body parts, and battery cell components. 

Overall, Formula E — the world’s first net zero motorsport since inception — demonstrates that sustainable driving experiences can be achieved without sacrificing automotive performance. This is true on the racetrack and the highway.

Ignite My Future is TCS’ pioneering effort to empower educators around the world with resources that help them integrate computational thinking into core subjects like math, science, literacy, social studies, and the arts.

TCS has launched our first-ever integration of Ignite My Future with Jaguar TCS Racing.

We have two main goals with this initiative:

Energize students about the possibility of a career in STEM
Prepare them with future-ready skills that are foundational for every student and worker in the AI era.

Founded with a mission to accelerate sustainable human progress, the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is a laboratory for innovation and a platform where the most advanced electric vehicle technologies are tested in the heat of competition.

Sustainability is about more than just the electrification of automobile industry. The GEN3 Evo race car is based on Life Cycle Thinking with a clear path towards second life and end of life for all tires, auto body parts, and battery cell components. 

Overall, Formula E—the world’s first net carbon zero motorsport since inception—demonstrates that sustainable driving experiences can be achieved without sacrificing automotive performance. This is true on the racetrack and the highway.

We harness the power of sport to spark interest in STEM and ignite the next generation of innovators. Our global education initiative, Ignite My Future, equips educators with tools to embed computational thinking across core subjects—from math and science to literacy and the arts.

In partnership with Jaguar TCS Racing, nearly 30,000 students in 16 countries have explored real-world applications of racing data, design, and strategy through custom lesson plans and exclusive behind-the-scenes content featuring the team. Hundreds of students have also participated in at-track experiences with TCS and Jaguar TCS Racing at E-Prix around the world.
