Gulftainer, a UAE-based company managing over 40% of the port container facilities in the Middle East, was looking to tightly integrate disparate legacy IT systems. With rising demand for end-to-end container delivery services, the port operator wanted to implement a robust IT solution and strengthen the underlying technology infrastructure to effectively track containers and other assets. There was a pressing need for enhancing visibility across business functions, streamlining supply chain and logistics processes, and boosting workforce productivity through mobile enablement.

Gulftainer partnered with TCS for change management and to implement S/4HANA, SAP’s enterprise resource management platform for IT infrastructure consolidation. TCS conducted a detailed assessment of the company’s IT landscape to create an implementation roadmap for integrating disparate applications, spanning diverse business functions. A team of over 20 SAP S/4HANA experts ensured cost-effective and timely deployment of a customized, mobile-enabled Employee Self Service (ESS) and Manager Self Service (MSS) solution, with an agile and resilient infrastructure.
The solution was designed to provide a comprehensive view of business operations across functions, including finance, sales, procurement, and maintenance, and to deliver data-driven insights for better customer responsiveness.
