Givaudan Partners with TCS to Transform its Global Data Center Operations

Tata Consultancy Services’ Machine First™ Delivery Model, Powered by ignio™, to Help the Company Increase Agility, Resilience and Responsiveness

ZURICH | MUMBAI, December 11, 2019: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a leading global IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, announced that it has signed an agreement with Givaudan International SA, a global leader in fragrances and flavors, to modernize and manage the latter’s global data center operations and accelerate its digital transformation journey.

With its proven Machine First™ Delivery Model (MFDM™), powered by the cognitive automation software ignio™, TCS will digitalize, automate and manage Givaudan’s data center operations to create a scalable, resilient foundation for its future growth and transformation. TCS will also use its proven delivery framework RiO™ (Rigor in Operations) to provide next gen solutions such as cognitive threat management and business service monitoring.

The partnership with TCS will help Givaudan enhance its cyber resilience, achieve operational excellence, increase business agility and responsiveness, and align its IT with its strategic business objectives. Additionally, the companies will explore new areas of partnership across the business value chain.

We chose TCS as a partner based on its industry knowledge, proven technology capabilities, and innovative solutions,” said Fabien Jaunault, Head, Global Information Management & Technology, Givaudan. “Making our systems even more intelligent and agile will help us anticipate and take future opportunities, putting ourselves a step further towards our organizational goal ‘Responsible Growth with Shared Success’.”

“We have been helping leading manufacturers across the world leverage cloud, analytics and cognitive automation to achieve their growth and transformation objectives,” said Susheel Vasudevan, Global Head, Manufacturing unit, TCS.“We look forward to partnering with Givaudan to build a resilient, self-healing operations stack that will support their Business 4.0™ journey.”

TCS’ MFDM leverages automation, robotics and artificial intelligence to help enterprises achieve their business outcomes faster, with reduced risk. The core principle of this model is to pair humans with, and not versus, machines. It uses the ability of machines to solve complex problems faster, better and handle large volumes and breadth of coverage, while humans provide inputs for machines to learn to solve complex problems better. The resultant machine intelligence delivers multi-fold productivity improvements and elevates customer experience to newer highs.

At the core of the MFDM framework is ignio, which has a unique and innovative cognitive capability that blends artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced software engineering to make enterprise IT resilient and self-healing. It uses its context awareness to pre-empt problems and autonomously resolve a lot of the incidents that do occur, significantly increasing the availability of mission-critical systems.
