Japan-based Automotive Consortium
Tokyo, December 2, 2008: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), (BSE: TCS.BO, NSE: TCS.NS), a leading global IT services, business solutions and outsourcing firm, today announced that it has become a member of JasPar (Japan Automotive Software Platform Architecture). JasPar is a consortium focusing on framework development of in-vehicle software development with the aim to promote technology development and standardization at optimized costs.
TCS is already a member of the AUTOSAR consortium and by virtue of JasPar membership it will be able to raise awareness of its development capabilities within the Japanese automotive industry, and thus establish close working relationships with participating members. TCS also wishes to extend partnerships with academic institutes in Japan.
Commenting on the JasPar membership, Masahiko Kaji, President, TCS Japan said, “Japan, the second largest market in terms of technology spend globally, is a key strategic market for TCS. Collaboration with member companies will further enable TCS to provide its customers innovative solutions in the area of automotive electronics, while also allowing it to contribute to the industry’s development.”
TCS has been granted the membership after it met rigorous qualification criterion and was endorsed by one of the core members of the consortium based on its in-depth understanding of software development processes in the field of automotive embedded electronics. The consortium includes leading automotive companies like Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Toyota Tsusho Electronics, DENSO, Bosch, Suzuki, Isuzu, Mitsubishi, Jatco, Yamaha and others.
