Appointments Expand Tata Consultancy Services’ Board to Ten Directors, with Six Independent Directors
MUMBAI, December 19, 2018: Tata Consultancy Services (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a leading global IT services, consulting, and business solutions organization, today announced that it has appointed Hanne Birgitte Breinbjerg Sorensen and Keki M. Mistry as Additional and Independent Directors of the company for a period of 5 years with effect from December 18, 2018, based on the recommendations of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, and subject to approval of shareholders.
With this latest addition, the Board now has six Independent directors out of a total of ten directors.
Hanne Sorensen has held various senior level executive positions within the AP Moller-Maersk A/S Group in Denmark over an illustrious twenty-two year career. In her most recent executive roles, she was CEO of Damco, a Dutch Supply Chain Management company from 2014-16 and prior to that, the CEO of Maersk Tankers, the world's largest product tanker company. She is presently on the Board of Tata Motors Limited, Jaguar Land Rover Automotive Plc, Delhivery Private Limited, Ferrovial S.A., LafargeHolcim Limited and Sulzer Limited. Ms Sorensen is a Danish national, born in 1965, and holds an MSc in Economics and Management from the University of Aarhus.
Keki Mistry is Vice Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of HDFC Limited and brings with him nearly four decades of experience in the banking and financial services domain. He has played a critical role in the successful transformation of HDFC into India’s leading financial services conglomerate by facilitating the formation of group companies in banking, asset management and insurance. Besides being on the Board of several HDFC Group companies, he is also on the Board of Torrent Power Ltd., CDC Group (London) and Greatship (India) Ltd. He is a Member of SEBI’s Primary Market Advisory Committee and Corporate Governance Committee. He has chaired the CII Corporate Governance Committee in the past, and has received several awards and recognitions. Born in 1954, he holds a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce from the Mumbai University and is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
