TCS helps cloud storage providers comply with the Storage Networking Industry Association’s CDMI specifications
Mumbai, November 7, 2011: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS) a leading consulting, business solutions and IT services organization, today announced the development of the Cloud Data Management Interface (CDMI) Conformance Assurance Solution (CAS), an innovative solution that enables clients to test their compliance with CDMI specifications, while simultaneously accelerating the development lifecycle of CDMI. TCS’ CAS is the first solution that enables cloud storage companies to test interoperability with Storage Networking Industry Association’s (SNIA) CDMI Version 1.0.1, released in September 2011.
TCS participated along with other service and product vendors in the SNIA Storage Developer Conference 2011 Cloud Plugfest at Santa Clara in September 2011. TCS’ CAS enabled the participants to test a defined set of data storage and management scenarios. The mainstream CDMI features tested included create, read, update and delete (CRUD) operations for data, capability, container and queue objects. Plugfest participants were able to accomplish standards implementation interoperability, refinement of the CDMI Reference Implementation and uniform interpretation of the CDMI specification.
Commenting on TCS’ participation in the Cloud PlugFest, Mark Carlson, Co-Chair of SNIA Cloud Technical Work Group and member of SNIA Technical Council, said, “The SNIA Cloud Storage Initiative and the Cloud Technical Work Group greatly appreciates TCS’ active involvement and many contributions to the Cloud Plugfest. The commitment from TCS toward CDMI interoperability and testing tools will accelerate the common use and availability of CDMI throughout private and public clouds.”
The innovative solution fills an industry need for interoperability between cloud storage vendors.
