MUMBAI, October 16, 2025: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a global leader in IT services, consulting, and business solutions, has concluded the first edition of the tcsAI Hackathon 2025 globally. With over 281,000 employees participating from across 58 countries, the hackathon has made history by becoming the world’s largest AI Hackathon. Anchored on 21 industry-relevant AI themes, the event set a new benchmark in diversity and reach for the industry with 33% of participation from women, 53% local employees taking part in overseas geographies, 36% mid-level and senior participants, 38% employees in the Gen Z age group taking part, and 29% non-technical participants.
Part of TCS’ initiatives to accelerate AI adoption among employees under the unified banner tcsAI (to be read as 'TCS to the power of AI'), the Hackathon is a key enabler to driving AI-first culture at TCS. tcsAI also provides TCS employees access to GenAI-powered platforms, tools, and environments to explore, learn and meaningfully integrate AI into their everyday work.
The Hackathon brought together People, Platforms and Partners in a unique approach to deliver exciting and gamified experiences to employees. AI solutions from top hyperscaler and niche partners and TCS’ own solutions like TCS AI WisdomNextTM were integrated seamlessly to cater to each participant persona and solution needs. Participants accessed unlimited on-demand online AI labs and physical AI Friday labs and mentors, demonstrating what the world’s largest phygital AI foundries look like.
True to its theme, Generative AI is playing a significant role in the comprehensive evaluation of the Hackathon submissions with TCS’ AI experts in the loop – setting an example of how AI augments humans to achieve scale and effectiveness.

The tcsAI Hackathon 2025 continues in its weekly AI Fridays in-person format at major TCS campuses in India. TCS customers have provided feedback indicating interest in participating in TCS' work on AI innovation. Several TCS customers and TCS groups are assessing the solutions developed during these Hackathons for potential integration into their products and services, both for clients and for internal use.
