TCS’ ignio™ Powers IT Transformation at Tata Steel Europe

TCS' Cognitive Automation Software has Increased User Satisfaction, Enterprise Compliance and Operational Efficiencies for the Steel Major

SANTA CLARA | MUMBAI, March 13, 2019: Tata Consultancy Services (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a leading global IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, announced that Digitate’s cognitive automation solution, ignio™, has been successfully deployed by Tata Steel Europe (TSE) as its AI platform for IT operations.

TSE, a leading European steel producer, is currently on a digital transformation journey with innovation, customer focus, and value chain excellence at its core. The company has a complex IT landscape with a broad range of technologies in the areas of ERP, MES, data and reporting, planning and scheduling, etc. TCS is helping TSE in this journey, using its Machine-First™ approach to transform the underlying technology operations and deliver improved user support levels, enhance productivity and reduce operational risks. The ignio suite consisting of ignio AIOps, ignio AI.SAPOps, and ignio AI.Workload Management, is central to this initiative.

Within four months of implementing ignio AI.SAPOps, ignio is handling 83% of the incidents and requests autonomously, and TSE has started reaping benefits such as faster turnaround times (98% reduction in lead time to fulfill requests) and elimination of manual errors. The next step in the roadmap is a comprehensive 360 degree view of the IT landscape including business process and batches (environment blueprint), batch analytics, dynamic thresholds, intelligent automation corroborating, and enabling TSE’s Digital Enterprise strategy.
