New York | Mumbai, December 10, 2013: As the new title sponsor for the New York City Marathon, Tata Consultancy Services, (TCS), (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS) a leading IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, is pleased to announce that runner and volunteer applications for the 2014 TCS New York City Marathon are available on the new TCS New York City Marathon website, tcsnycmarathon.org.
The runner application window will remain open through March 18 for the more than 100,000 runners expected to apply. The application window for the approximately 12,000 volunteers who will support the race will remain open through July 31. The 2014 TCS New York City Marathon is scheduled to take place on Sunday, November 2, 2014.
“The new website and social channels for the 2014 TCS New York City Marathon mark the beginning of a long run for TCS alongside NYRR in engaging communities across New York City and encouraging a more active and healthy lifestyle,” added Natarajan Chandrasekaran, CEO and managing director of TCS. “We aim to make next year’s marathon the most socially engaged experience yet, using TCS’ core technology expertise, in addition to supporting NYRR’s 5 Borough Series and heritage races as part of our broader premier partnership.”

The new TCS New York City Marathon website features a new look and improved user experience, as well as information that will help runners plan their race day. It includes tailored coaching plans through the official TCS New York City Marathon online training program and information about how to participate as part of a charity team, such as NYRR’s Team for Kids.
In addition to the launch of the new website, NYRR is releasing new social media accounts and hashtags for runners, volunteers and fans looking to share their excitement and stories for the 2014 TCS New York City Marathon. Runners and fans are encouraged to tag Instagram and Twitter posts with #tcsnycmarathon and to visit the Twitter and Instagram handles, @nycmarathon, and Facebook page - TCS New York City Marathon – which has been updated with information on the 2014 race.
