MUMBAI, October 5, 2017: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, today announced that the S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI), one of the world’s leading index providers, and RobecoSAM, an investment specialist focused exclusively on Sustainability Investing (SI), have listed TCS in their annual Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) 2017 for the fifth consecutive year.
On the environmental dimension, TCS was placed in the 94th percentile. Overall, TCS was placed in the 85th percentile in the World Index, and its continued high placement reinforces the company’s position as a responsible corporate citizen.
TCS has adopted the ‘triple bottom-line’ approach, recognizing People, Planet and Profit as the primary pillars of corporate sustainability. TCS also has a robust Health, Safety and Environment program and is committed to building green and sustainable infrastructure that can lead to significant reduction of its carbon and ecological footprint.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) has become a reference point in sustainability investing. The RobecoSam Annual Sustainability Assessment evaluates business practices of the world’s largest companies. More than 3,900 listed companies across 60 industries participated in the assessment exercise. The DJSI annual review is based on a thorough analysis of corporate economic, environmental and social performance, and assesses issues such as corporate governance, risk management, branding, climate-change mitigation, supply-chain standards, and labor practices.
