MUMBAI | MILAN : June 22, 2018 – Tata Consultancy Services (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a leading global IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, today announced that it has been selected as the Strategic Partner for digital re-imagination and transformation program by Saipem, leader in services for the energy industry and infrastructure.

TCS will be supporting Saipem’s digital transformation as the company faces a constantly evolving and increasingly competitive market. TCS will be managing cyber security for the Saipem, while also improving user experience through cloud and automation, leveraging machine learning and cognitive automation through ignioTM, and managing Saipem’s ecosystem of IT suppliers through Digital Service Management.

Prasad Meharunkar, TCS Country Head for Italy, said: “Technology has always played a vital role in complex industries such as oil and gas, where the physical operating environment is often harsh and remote, and business is driven by sharp swings in commodity prices. In Italy in particular, many companies in the industry have found themselves working with multiple uncoordinated vendors, facing a challenge to adjust in an agile manner, which drives up costs and complicates IT operations. We’re looking forward to partnering with Saipem to not only transform their technology operations, but also to help them adopt a more streamlined, secure and agile mindset, which – in this Business 4.0 era – is crucial to success.”

Antonio Carredu, Director of Innovation, Systems and Corporate Marketing at Saipem commented: “As we embarked on this next phase in Saipem’s business evolution, we were seeking a partner that could of course impeccably manage elements of our IT landscape, but more importantly help us seamlessly manage our multi-vendor ecosystem to achieve more efficiency, innovation and simplification. TCS has impressed us at every step of the process and we’re looking forward to working closely with the team to reach our objectives.”

Debashis Ghosh, President Energy, Resources and EPC, TCS added: “Working with a global industry leader such as Saipem is a fantastic partnership for TCS. The engineering, procurement and construction sector is going through an era of dramatic change as the effects of the Fourth Industrial Revolution are working their way into the industry, and the need to adapt to these demands through digital is increasingly important. As a result, we’re very excited to be supporting Saipem on its transformation journey in the coming years.”
