The UK government has set a target of net zero carbon mission by 2050, and the utilities industry is key to achieving this. However, it will be a challenging target given the complexities associated with understanding and calculating carbon footprints, monitoring these, making changes, and sustaining the same across the sector and its supply chains. Moreover, achieving a sustainable future for the environment, society and businesses will require more than cutting emissions. We all need to commit ourselves to a wider “zero” vision.

At TCS, we partner with leading utilities globally with a vision to create a smarter and sustainable future by building resilience across the value chain, curating experiences, and empowering ecosystems. In collaboration with Utility Week, we conducted a detailed research capturing sector-specific insights from the senior representatives at energy retailers, energy networks, and water utilities. The report explores their views on zero carbon mission and the means to achieve it for transformation in other essential business areas.
