The TCS BaNCS Global Securities Platform is tailored to cater to this evolving financial landscape, providing end-to-end support for a wide range of asset classes, including equities, fixed income, and alternatives, ensuring comprehensive coverage for institutional and retail clients.
Custody and cash processing solution for KSA, as part of TCS BaNCS Global Securities Platform, is a SaaS offering which supports data residency, ISO 15022/20022 connectivity to EDDA, Sunday coverage as well as the ability to expand into neighboring markets in the Middle East.
It provides end-to-end support for a wide range of asset classes –
- Data residency: There is a degree of ambiguity about the data residency rules for servicing local KSA resident investors. Some clients have elected to take conservative interpretations of these rules and have established local instances and cloud coverage in KSA.
- Global platform integration: The level of integration with global custody systems can vary depending on the preferred operating model. At one end, a low touch model that mirrors leveraging a third-party custody player who uses standard ISO messaging, and at the other, a hybrid model that can selectively integrate with global custody platforms where more streamlined single touch processing is beneficial.
- Sunday coverage: We recognize that local clients will require Sunday trading support, while also wanting a uniform experience with the global custody platforms. There are several approaches to covering this – while accepting that all platforms may not be operational on a Sunday.
- Banking models: We have worked with clients who cover cash banking in-house and others who have elected to appoint a third-party bank as an initial step while traction is achieved. There are a range of considerations to work though and how cash balances are validated when processing settlement and FX activity.
- Market connectivity: EDAA currently uses ISO 20022 and 15022 standards, but through a proprietary channel at this stage. New participants need to undertake market certification testing, and we have worked with clients to ensure this is efficiently conducted and realistically structured into any implementation timeline.
- Regional expansion: We find that our clients want to configure options to expand into other regional markets at a later date. We consult with clients, building in future options and entity structures so that operational expansion is simplified and the benefits of multi-market coverage through a single instance can be achieved.
