Deriving legal recommendations using NLP technique
Natural language processing techniques help draw user-specific insights in legal cases.
Legal professionals use their experience or refer to relevant previous judicial evidence to prescribe the course of action to their clients while offering legal services. Comprehending prior legal proceedings and contextualizing the insights to a given user profile is a challenging task.
We present a template-based recommendation system derived on the user's profile and insights obtained from similar past cases. Natural language processing techniques are used to parse the relevant text to create user-specific legal insights. These insights populate a template to provide the final recommendations to the user. Using NLP techniques, we demonstrate the system with two case studies: parental alienation and divorce cases. Our system shows promising results in creating meaningful insights and recommendations.
